About Parview

Parent + View. Seeing the online world through the eyes of the people closest to young people.

“It takes a village to raise a child.”

Now you have one.

The problem we're solving

Young people's online world moves fast. New apps, trends, slang, and risks appear constantly — but the adults who need to know often find out too late. Teachers and youth workers see things first, but they don't always have time to research what they've seen or know how to communicate it to parents. Parents want to help but don't know what to look for.

Parview bridges that gap. We collect real observations from people who work with young people, add practical context, and point schools and families toward the right guidance.

Who's involved

👀

Observers — teachers, youth workers, school staff

The people who notice things first. They share what they're seeing in schools and youth settings. No expertise in online safety is needed — just an eye for what young people are doing. Even one observation a year makes a difference.

Reviewers — experienced youth workers and safeguarding leads

Every submission is checked before publishing. Our reviewers are experienced practitioners who remove identifying details, add practical context from their own experience, and point readers toward relevant existing guidance where it's available.

📖

Readers — school leaders, teachers, parents, carers

The people who need this information. They browse insights by topic, age group, or region and get clear, jargon-free information they can act on. Schools can use Parview to stay aware of emerging issues and share relevant insights with parents.

Our process

1

Observation submitted

A teacher, youth worker, or other professional submits what they've noticed. This might be a new app, a worrying trend, or unfamiliar slang.

2

Identifying details removed

Our review team checks the submission and removes any information that could identify specific young people — names, schools, or other personal details.

3

Community review

Experienced youth workers and safeguarding leads review the observation. They add practical context from their experience and link to relevant existing guidance where available.

4

Published as an insight

The finished insight goes live on Parview — explaining what's happening, why it matters, and where to find help. Schools and families can browse, search, and share relevant insights.

Why “Parview”?

The name combines “parent” and “view” — but it's not just for parents. It's about giving every adult who cares about young people a clearer view of what's happening in their online world. Teachers, youth workers, school leaders, parents, carers — everyone benefits when the village shares what it knows.

We believe the best way to keep children safe online isn't surveillance or panic — it's informed, calm, practical support from the adults around them.
